The Baby Blog: WE HAVE A VISA DATE!!!

WOO HOO! FEBRUARY 4TH! That's a Thursday so we leave the weekend before and comeback mid way through the next week. I'm so psyched! Gotta buy plane tickets! We're almost there baby! YAY! YAY! YAY!

6/07 We decided to adopt!
7/07 We went to adoption orientations.
9/07 Started the Baby Blog
11/07 Announced that we are adopting
1/08 We applied to Children's Hope.
2/08 Children's Hope accepted us!
2/08 We began the wild paperchase.
6/08 We applied for Citizens and Immigration approval.
7/08 CIS approval!
8/08 We turned in our dossier!
8/08 Our dossier arrived in Ethiopia.
8/08 We went on the referral waiting list.
8/08 on...Waiting
9/08 Met House of Hope director Tseguy Fesseha - he told us he had our paperwork!
2/09 We came in range to recieve a referral (6-10 months from turning in the dossier).
2/09 Baby room is done
2/09...Waiting for our referral.
4/09 We renewed our fingerprints for CIS
4/09...Still waiting.
5/09 Renewed fingerprints
7/09 We are in the top 10!
8/09 Started getting travel immunizations
9/09 We got to the top of the list
9/26/09 Hosted international/adoption get together
10/09 Started renewing homestudy
11/9/09 We recieved our referral of Nigist
12/09 We got a court date!
12/14/09 Renewed homestudy
12/23/09 We're parents!
1/10/10 Recieved our renewed CIS approval
1/30/10 We're off!
2/1/10 Gotcha Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2/4/10 Embassy visa appointment
2/11/10 Welcome home baby
2/12/10 First Dr. appointment
4/27/10 First post adoption report
12/27/12 We received Amari's citizenship papers!!
